WeClaim Research, LLC believes in the potential of all people to create just and healing worlds. We believe in a natural curiosity about the world that exists in all people. When systems harm, people ask why. By asking questions that challenge the harm, inequity, and injustice, we then begin a path toward changing them. WeClaim Research, LLC seeks to walk with communities and organizations to generate knowledge and create solutions that bring us closer to healing and transformation.
The idea of WeClaim Research, LLC began more than a decade ago in the mind and living room of Dr. Dawn X. Henderson. In reflecting on her teaching as a former middle school science teacher and a professor at a Historically Black Institution, we/her/ours began to dream up ways to change how learning happens and how learning about science and research differently builds a collective power to change the conditions we see in the world that have been harmful, destructive to Black-Indigenous communities globally. Birthed from a healing journey and a grieving process, WeClaim Research, LLC was named and solidified in the lexicon and ecosystem.
